Ashtanga Basics with Emma

Ashtanga (aṣṭa - eight, aṅga - limb) Yoga is a practice focused on ujjāyī breath, bandhas, drishti, asana, and vinyasa (movement with breath). This class with Emma will explore the fundamentals of the primary series through a series of mini-workshops followed by a guided half primary each session. Whether you are a new or experienced Ashtanga practitioner this class will deepen your connection to your body, breath, mind, and yoga practice as a whole.

Meet Emma:

Emma is a RYT-200, RPYT-85, and Sound Bath Facilitation certified hatha yoga teacher. She is currently studying in David Garrigues’ 6-Month Ashtanga teacher certification program.

She began practicing yoga in high school but deepened her practice years later after discovering how healing yoga is for the mind-body connection. Her main values are helping guide people reconnect with themselves, their body, the earth, and community as well as making yoga an accessible practice.
